Suggested Video

Fairfield has won nine straight games at home, while Johnson has won nine straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Fairfield Falcons will host the Johnson Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both have allowed few points on average, (Fairfield: 10.6, Johnson: 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Last Thursday, Fairfield was fully in charge, breezing past Burbank 50-6 on the road. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Fairfield had a senior duo take command as Aubrey Stewart rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries and Sariah Williams gained 216 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Williams also racked up 140 rushing yards, the mostshe's had since back in August.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fairfield's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Stewart and Williams, who racked up all seven sacks between them. Stewart also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Fairfield is undefeated when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fairfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 363 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Johnson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They and Foothill were almost perfectly matched up, but Johnson suffered a 7-6 defeat. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Mustangs are ranked 523rd).

Johnson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Altayshia'E Lee and Anissa Zavala.

Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Tuesday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Fairfield has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Johnson, though, as they've been averaging only 81.5. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Fairfield strolled past Johnson in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 28-14. Does Fairfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Johnson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
