Basketball Recap: Fredericksburg V Takes a Loss

Fredericksburg V was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights.

Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot found their leader in sophomore John Loftin, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. Loftin is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Hamner, who went 7 for 16 en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals.

Fredericksburg V now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Fredericksburg V has already played their next contest (against Spirit HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will take on Brunswick Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
