Soccer Game Preview: Ottawa Hills vs. East Kentwood

The Ottawa Hills Bengals will venture away from home to take on the East Kentwood Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ottawa Hills has given up an average of 6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ottawa Hills is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Monday, they were much more limited against East Grand Rapids on Wednesday. They came up short against the Pioneers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Ottawa Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 287th, while East Grand Rapids are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Kentwood). Everything went their way against Wyoming on Monday as they made off with a 9-1 victory. East Kentwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

East Kentwood's win bumped their record up to 7-5-4. As for Ottawa Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Ottawa Hills might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from East Kentwood when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Bengals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
