Basketball Game Preview: Stevenson Ambassadors vs. Wings Academy Wings

The Stevenson Ambassadors will face off against the Wings Academy Wings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stevenson will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Two weeks ago, Stevenson might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Eagle Academy an easy 79-53 victory. While losing is never fun, the Ambassadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while Eagle Academy are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Wings Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 67-54 to Bay Shore.

Stevenson will need focus on slowing down Rushawn Greene, one of several Wings Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 12 points along with seven assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamrin Kendall, who earned nine points and seven rebounds.

Wings Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Stevenson was able to grind out a solid win over Wings Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 77-66. Will Stevenson repeat their success, or does Wings Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
