Football Recap: Perry Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Perry had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They strolled past the New Hampstead Phoenix with points to spare, taking the game 38-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Perry's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Decorrion Daniels, who rushed for 71 yards and a pair of scores. Daniels also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Panthers are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Dakarai Felder did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 91 receiving yards.

As for New Hampstead, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. They gained 142 more yards on the day, but it was Perry that made the best use of them.

Defeat or not, New Hampstead got some senior leadership from Eric Hockman and Ben Hockman. Eric threw for 399 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75.8% of his passes, while Ben picked up 85 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Those 399 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Eric.

Perry wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 38-0 victory against Wayne County on the 3rd. As for New Hampstead, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-19 loss against Ware County on the 2nd.
