Basketball Recap: Desert Mountain Comes Up Short

Desert Mountain was the 79-58 winner over Willow Canyon when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Desert Mountain Wolves lost to the Willow Canyon Wildcats at home by a 64-50 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Wildcats are ranked sixth).

Desert Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Willow Canyon, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Desert Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-41 victory against Chaparral on the 10th. Willow Canyon has also already played their next contest, a 71-44 win against Valley Vista on the 10th.
