Baseball Recap: San Jose Comes Up Short

San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-3 to the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztec Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 last Tuesday.

Luis Cervantes and Jayson Padilla stepped up to the plate in a big way. Cervantes scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-1, while Padilla scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. With that strong performance, Cervantes is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Krish Dilidili also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

San Jose's record is now 3-5. As for Yerba Buena, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Jose will welcome Silver Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yerba Buena, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on April 8.
