For the first time in 2022, 247Sports updated its high school football player rankings for the Class of 2023 and Arch Manning of Newman (New Orleans) stayed put at No. 1. The five-star quarterback is one of 11 players from Louisiana included in the Top 247. He is also one of 14 signal-callers featured.

When looking at the top 10 players in the Class of 2023, four are quarterbacks, including the top three spots.

Malachi Nelson of Los Alamitos (Calif.) checks in a No. 2 followed by Nico Iamaleava of Warren (Downey, Calif.) at No. 3.

Nelson, Iamaleava and Matayo Uiagalelei of St. John Bosco (Bellflower) headline the 19 players from California featured in the updated Top 247.

Florida claims 48 spots — the most at 19.4-percent of the total — in the Top 247 while Texas has the second most with 38 (15.3-percent).

Georgia (27) and Alabama (15) join the three big states as the only other ones with at least 15 players featured in the updated rankings.

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) has the most players from one school with six in the Top 247 — Francis Mauigoa (13), Carnell Tate (14), Samuel M'Pemba (27), Jordan Hall (163), Will Norman (169) and Cameron Lenhardt (197).
