Basketball Recap: Shawnee Indians vs. Van Wert Cougars
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shawnee). They came out on top against the Van Wert Cougars by a score of 82-69 on Friday. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Cougars are ranked 304th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Shawnee to victory were Trevick Bertke and Beckett Bertke. Trevick went 12 for 16 on his way to 30 points along with eight boards and five assists, while Beckett almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Trevick's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Jagger Hutchins was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.
