Baseball Game Preview: LBJ Austin Jaguars vs. Northeast Early College Raiders

For the second straight game, LBJ Austin will face off against Northeast Early College. The Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

LBJ Austin took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Northeast Early College 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Jacovy Smith-Poole made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, LBJ Austin let Trace Lamar and Braydon Williams run wild. Lamar went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Williams scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two RBI gave Lamar a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Konlea Knox, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Northeast Early College's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for LBJ Austin, their record is now 3-14.
