Soccer Game Preview: North Pole vs. Hutchison

The North Pole Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Hutchison Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. North Pole's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

North Pole is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Redington, who was ranked 21st at the time (North Pole was ranked 20th). The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Huskies on Friday. That's two games in a row now that North Pole have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Hutchison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 12-0 to Redington.

North Pole's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hutchison, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

North Pole took their win against Hutchison in their previous matchup on May 1st by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
