Preview: Santa Fe Indian vs. West Las Vegas

West Las Vegas will challenge Santa Fe Indian on the road at 7:00 PM on Thursday. West Las Vegas are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Santa Fe Indian are stumbling in off of three consecutive losses.

It was all tied up at the half for West Las Vegas and St. Michael's last Friday, but West Las Vegas stepped up in the second half. West Las Vegas dodged a bullet, finishing off St. Michael's 14-13. Senior Antonio Bustamante, who picked up 136 yards on the ground and caught passes for 75 yards, was a major factor in West Las Vegas's success. Bustamante has been a consistent playmaker for West Las Vegas as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Indian took a serious blow against Raton, falling 0-42. The state rankings had actually given Santa Fe Indian a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

West Las Vegas were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Santa Fe Indian 48-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Las Vegas since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
