Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington fell victim to Manhattan Center for Science & Math and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost eight in a row.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Manhattan Center for Science & Math, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Washington will square off against Morris at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.45 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Manhattan Center for Science & Math, they will challenge KIPP NYC College Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Rams have won eight straight at home dating back to last season, while the Bulldogs won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
