Soccer Game Preview: Conway vs. Socastee

Conway is 1-9 against Socastee since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tigers will square off against the Braves at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Conway turned things around against Aynor on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.

Meanwhile, Socastee hadn't done well against Myrtle Beach recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Braves came out on top against the Seahawks by a score of 4-2. The game got a bit rough at times, as the refs handed out a total of three yellow cards before it was all over: Socastee's Joe Molina-Banegas and Yury Santos and Myrtle Beach's Elijah Watson were all carded.

Socastee hit Myrtle Beach with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Hunter Richardson, Alexsandro Ajuech-Agreda, Cullen Cunningham, and Braeden Cunningham.

The win got Conway back to even at 9-9. As for Socastee, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.

Conway came out on top in a nail-biter against Socastee when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
