Soccer Game Preview: Rocky Mountain Lutheran vs. Vanguard Classical East

The Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Vanguard Classical East Hawks at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rocky Mountain Lutheran took on Front Range Baptist on Wednesday. The Eagles lost 5-1 to the Falcons. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Rocky Mountain Lutheran were already down 3-0.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Vanguard Classical East's offense. They came up short against Manual on Monday, falling 8-0. Vanguard Classical East have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran now has a losing record of 5-6-1. As for Vanguard Classical East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran took their win against Vanguard Classical East in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
