Softball Recap: Strasburg-Franklin Tigers vs. Steubenville Big Red

In what's become a running theme this season, Strasburg-Franklin gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Steubenville Big Red as the Strasburg-Franklin Tigers made off with an 8-2 win. Winning may never get old, but Strasburg-Franklin sure is getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Amelia Spidell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Spidell has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Spidell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

In other batting news, Miley Reifenschneider was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Rylee Becker was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Strasburg-Franklin's victory was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-3. As for Steubenville, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
