            Softball Recap: Fairfield Lions vs. Eastern Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            While Fairfield's  victory against Eastern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Warriors  2-1 on Thursday. The  win was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four  matches in a row.
 Rilee Quickle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 5.1  strikeouts per game.
 On the hitting side, Fairfield's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Ally Maynard, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run.

Fairfield's win was  their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-3. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eastern,  with the  loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.
