Volleyball Recap: Northwest Mustangs vs. Stover Bulldogs

Northwest lost against Stover back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

Northwest started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-23, 15-9.

Gabby Meyer paced Northwest's offense, picking up 37 kills. Meyer got some help from Mary Walker and her 36 assists. Meyer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Leading Stover to victory were Teagan Morris and Shae Fisher. Morris had 15 digs and two aces, while Fisher had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces Morris has posted over her last 18 matchups.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for Stover, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-3 record this season.

Northwest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Sacred Heart on the 2nd. As for Stover, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Otterville on the 2nd.
