Baseball Game Preview: Lakewood Ranch Mustangs vs. Palmetto Tigers

Lakewood Ranch is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Palmetto a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Lakewood Ranch Mustangs will host the Palmetto Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Lakewood Ranch came up short against Parrish Community on Friday, falling 10-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmetto). They put the hurt on Southeast with a sharp 16-1 victory on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Blake Willis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Williams, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Palmetto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmetto's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Lakewood Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
