Cooperstown extended their winning streak to 17 games thanks to a huge performance from Miles Nelen. The Cooperstown Hawkeyes were the clear victor by an 84-61 margin over the Waterville Indians on Monday thanks in part to Nelen, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 21 points and seven assists. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Brody Murdock, who posted 14 points. What's more, he also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Cooperstown's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.4 points. As for Waterville, their loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.

Cooperstown and Waterville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Cooperstown (ranked 67th) will meet Westmoreland (ranked 800th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cooperstown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 76.9 points per game this season. Similarly, Waterville will square off against Sauquoit Valley at 7:00 p.m. on February 10th up 576 places (218 vs. 794).
