Baseball Recap: Mountain Grove Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Mountain Grove ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Reeds Spring Wolves. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Briar Parsons tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Eli Golden was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Garrett Hutsell, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Mountain Grove pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Reeds Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mountain Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Hartville on the 31st. As for Reeds Spring, they have also already played their next match, a 17-0 victory against Buffalo on the 1st.
