Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Comes Up Short

Cheyenne lost against Green Valley back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Desert Shields lost 3-0 to the Gators.

While Cheyenne was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Green Valley's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-16.

Leading Green Valley to victory were Zayden Vicente and Jeremiah Nissley. Vicente had ten digs and one assist, while Nissley had five digs and three aces. Nissley is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Cheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Green Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-18 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cheyenne is set to challenge their familiar foe Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Green Valley will take on rival Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
