Softball Recap: Clewiston Takes a Loss

After flying high against Suncoast on Monday, Clewiston came back down to earth. The Tigers lost 19-3 to the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Cowboys/Cowgirls recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Salia Brathwaite and Riyani Joyner stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brathwaite went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Joyner went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Brathwaite has hit this season.

Clewiston's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for LaBelle, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clewiston will square off against Avon Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for LaBelle, they will take on Gateway Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
