Aj Vasquez posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long.

Vasquez's strong effort led Belvidere over Rockford Auburn and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bucs are 8-1 against the Knights going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
