Basketball Game Preview: Scotland/Menno Trappers vs. Viborg/Hurley Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Scotland/Menno Trappers will head out on the road to face off against the Viborg/Hurley Cougars at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Scotland/Menno is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Scotland/Menno fought the good fight in their overtime game against Bridgewater/Emery on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 75-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies.

Despite the defeat, Scotland/Menno got top-tier performance from Izayah Ulmer, who posted 21 points and three steals. Ulmer is becoming a predictor of Scotland/Menno's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 1-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Erick Buechler, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Scotland/Menno was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Viborg/Hurley faced Rapid City Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Viborg/Hurley came up short against Rapid City Christian, falling 59-38. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Scotland/Menno's record is now 3-14. As for Viborg/Hurley, their record is now 18-2.
