Volleyball Recap: Monomoy Takes a Loss

Monomoy lost against Seekonk back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sharks fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2. While the Sharks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-21 in the first set.

Monomoy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 26-6.

Maddy Gray paced Monomoy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gray got some help from Ella Cutter and her 34 assists. Cutter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Monomoy's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9. As for Seekonk, their win ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

Monomoy has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Cape Cod RVT on the 20th. As for Seekonk, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Fairhaven on the 20th.
