Baseball Recap: St. Mary Catholic Victorious

St. Mary Catholic was forced to take a big defeat against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They never let the Hilbert Wolves get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Zephyrs: when they faced off against the Wolves on Monday, they had to take a 15-3 loss.

Jacob Ernsting was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joe Pirillo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Mary Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

St. Mary Catholic now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Hilbert, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.
