Softball Game Preview: Gilman Pirates vs. Rib Lake Redmen

Gilman is a perfect 3-0 against Rib Lake since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pirates will welcome the Redmen at 5:00 p.m. Rib Lake took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Gilman, who comes in off a win.

Gilman will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Owen-Withee on Thursday. The Pirates blew past the Blackhawks 19-2. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Rib Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Stratford. The match marked the Redmen's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gilman now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rib Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Gilman skirted past Rib Lake 2-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2019. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Redmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
