Preview: Nipomo vs. Torres
The Nipomo Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Torres Toros at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many goals in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Nipomo unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (2-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Diego Bernal, who's played more minutes than anyone else on the Nipomo squad sat out for Thursday's contest. With Bernal sitting this one out, Justin Sights got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 35.63).
Meanwhile, Torres and Madera South finished up their match with a 1-1 draw. There's a chance things could've gone differently had Torres not been charged with a red card from Diego Solorio.
Torres' goal came courtesy of
Fabian Magdaleno, who's now up to four this season.
Nipomo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-1. Torres' draw gives them a new season record of 10-4-4.
Nipomo came up short against Torres in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 2-0. Can Nipomo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
