Softball Recap: Alvirne Takes a Loss

Alvirne extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They came up short against the Londonderry Lancers, falling 14-2. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Londonderry, the win keeps they at an undefeated 17-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

For Londonderry's part, Allison Chambers was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Chambers' first of the season. Addison Martinez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Alvirne is set to square off against their familiar foe Timberlane at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Londonderry will take on rival Pinkerton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lancers 0.9, the Astros 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
