Soccer Game Preview: Valley vs. Telstar

The Valley Cavaliers will head out on the road to take on the Telstar Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Valley is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Carrabec on Monday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Telstar kept a clean sheet against Wiscasset on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Wolverines. Telstar's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 8-1-1. As for Telstar, their win bumped their record up to 11-0.

Everything went Valley's way against Telstar when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as Valley made off with a 5-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
