Basketball Recap: Reeves Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Reeves lost to Welsh back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Reeves Raiders put the hurt on the Welsh Greyhounds with a sharp 76-55 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Reeves got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hakeem Jenkins out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Jenkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Guillory, who posted 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Reeves smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Reeves pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.6 points. As for Welsh, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reeves will venture away from home to face off against Kinder at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Welsh will take on Opelousas Catholic in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Welsh's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
