Basketball Game Preview: East Catholic Eagles vs. Ridgefield Tigers

The East Catholic Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Ridgefield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

East Catholic is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Northwest Catholic, who was ranked second at the time (East Catholic was ranked sixth). East Catholic might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 54-51 to Northwest Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Meanwhile, Ridgefield came up short against Staples on Wednesday and fell 68-58. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wreckers: they've now lost four in a row.

Ridgefield's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for East Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 21-7.

Everything came up roses for East Catholic against Ridgefield when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as the team secured a 74-45 victory. Will East Catholic repeat their success, or does Ridgefield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
