Softball Recap: East Central Continues Home Dominance on Friday

East Central entered their tilt with Canyon on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Cougars. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Cougars back in March, they had to take a 9-8 loss.

The result came thanks to Jenise Ramirez's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rehana Cuellar, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

East Central's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
