Basketball Recap: Princeton Takes a Loss

Princeton was the 90-69 winner over North Duplin when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Princeton Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 61-60 to the North Duplin Rebels. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Teo McPhatter, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 21 points along with five boards and three steals. McPhatter's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Massey, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points.

Donavan Armwood was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds for North Duplin. Those 11 boards gave Armwood a new career-high. Holden Williams was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for North Duplin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.

Princeton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-15 victory against Jones on the 7th. As for North Duplin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-65 loss against Bear Grass Charter on the 8th.
