Baseball Recap: Spanish Fork Wins Going Away Against Riverton

Spanish Fork won against Syracuse last Saturday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Spanish Fork Dons blew past the Riverton Silverwolves 9-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

Spanish Fork got a great performance from Matai Johnson as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Johnson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackie Sorenson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Sammy Dart also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Spanish Fork's record is now 2-4. As for Riverton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Spanish Fork will take on Cedar in a tournament on March 21st. As for Riverton, they will challenge Springville at 9:00 a.m. on March 21st.
