Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Paris

There's no place like home for Paris, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over the Mt. Zion Braves on Thursday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Braves are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Paris pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Mt. Zion, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-10.

Paris won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Casey-Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Zion, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Effingham at 2:30 p.m. Effingham has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three games.
