Father McGivney Catholic hit Althoff Catholic with a seven-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders came up short against the Griffins, falling 13-3.

Althoff Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Catherine Gross, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Marquette Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Althoff Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Marquette Catholic's way against Althoff Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as Marquette Catholic made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Explorers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
