Baseball Recap: Patuxent Comes Up Short

Patuxent had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-7 to make it five. They fell 6-1 to the Northern Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

As for Northern, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Northern's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Holson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Connor Renzi, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Patuxent is set to take on their familiar foe Great Mills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northern will challenge rival North Point at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
