Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Falls to Hozho Academy in First Game of Season

Legacy Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 38-30 to the Hozho Academy Wolves on Friday. The Silverbacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Legacy Academy still got an impressive performance from Eden Griffis, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Priscilla Cabrales, who posted two points and four steals.

Looking ahead, Legacy Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dulce at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hozho Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Menaul at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
