Soccer Game Preview: Fivay vs. Mitchell

Fivay is 0-9 against Mitchell since December of 2014 but things could change on Thursday. The Fivay Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Mitchell Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Fivay is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Cypress Creek on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Coyotes an easy 8-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Coyotes are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Mitchell's offense. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Land O' Lakes an easy 4-0 victory.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for Fivay, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Fivay suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Mitchell when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Fivay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
