Basketball Game Preview: John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles vs. Cardinal Mooney Cardinals

John F. Kennedy Catholic and Cardinal Mooney are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. John F. Kennedy Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, John F. Kennedy Catholic really took it to Rootstown for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-33 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-22.

It was another big night for Nick Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 13 boards. The contest was his 27th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Henry Phillips, who posted eight points.

John F. Kennedy Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 60-44 to East Liverpool. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Potters are ranked 143rd).

John F. Kennedy Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Cardinal Mooney, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
