Soccer Game Preview: Cushing vs. Purcell

The Cushing Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Purcell Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cushing will be strutting in after a win while Purcell will be coming in after a loss.

Cushing barely beat Atoka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers put the hurt on the Wampus Cats with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Cushing as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Purcell's offense. They came up short against Bridge Creek on Thursday, falling 11-0. Purcell have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Cushing's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Purcell, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Everything went Cushing's way against Purcell in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Cushing made off with a 6-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
