Football Recap: Victoria East Comes Up Short

Victoria East came into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Victoria West Warriors by a score of 32-29 on Friday. The Titans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Victoria East lost, don't look at Breshawn Stafford. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Nolan Boyce was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 205 yards and one TD while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and one score. Those 205 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Victoria West also got a significant boost from Jenesis Jeffries, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Victoria East's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Victoria West, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Victoria East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 36-0 defeat against Gregory-Portland on the 12th. As for Victoria West, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 39-0 victory against Sam Houston on the 12th.
