Soccer Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Lamar was the 5-2 winner over Westside when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Westside Wolves who were credited with the win on Friday. The Westside Wolves got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Lamar Texans' two. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Texans came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Wolves are ranked 316th).

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Westside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Lamar will square off against Wisdom at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westside, they will face off against Bellaire at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
