Football Game Preview: Douglas County Huskies vs. Chaparral Wolverines + How To Watch

The Douglas County Huskies are taking a road trip to challenge the Chaparral Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Douglas County and 15 for Chaparral dating back to last season.

Douglas County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 31 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Legend on Friday. They were dealt a 51-9 defeat at the hands of the Titans. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-0.

Meanwhile, Chaparral played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 49-23 to Fountain-Fort Carson. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Trojans are ranked 16th).

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Douglas County, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Douglas County took their victory against Chaparral when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 32-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
