Basketball Recap: Juarez-Lincoln Huskies vs. Roma Gladiators
Juarez-Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a 47-33 bruising from the Roma Gladiators. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-23 back in December of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alexa Verastegui, who posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. Verastegui has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Garcia, who had nine points and seven boards.
Juarez-Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Roma, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Juarez-Lincoln will host Cigarroa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roma, they will be playing at home against Mission at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st.
