Volleyball Game Preview: Marshall Eagles vs. Mesrobian Bulldogs

The Marshall Eagles will square off against the Mesrobian Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshall is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

If Arroyo wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Marshall, they should've done a better job of containing Harlem Castro. The Eagles blew past the Knights 3-0 on Friday with plenty of help from Castro, who had eight digs and eight aces. She has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Marshall was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Mesrobian lost 3-0 to Le Lycee on Monday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bulldogs haven't been shut out since back in August.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-20, 25-20.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Mesrobian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Everything went Marshall's way against Mesrobian in their previous matchup back in August of 2022, as Marshall made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
