Softball Recap: Uxbridge's Run of Seven Straight Victories Now Over

Uxbridge dropped their record down to 24-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell 4-0 to the Tyngsborough Tigers. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Erin O'Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances.

As for Tyngsborough, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

On Tyngsborough's side, not much got past Kiley Hogan, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Uxbridge off the board.

At the plate, Tyngsborough's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Devyn Amico, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

As of now, neither Uxbridge nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
