Basketball Recap: Mt. Clemens Comes Up Short

Mt. Clemens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Hamtramck Cosmos 55-23. The Battling Bathers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cosmos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Mt. Clemens lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alyssa Pelione, who posted ten points. Pelione is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaidah Williams, who earned seven points.

Mt. Clemens' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hamtramck, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Mt. Clemens has already played their next game, a 46-45 victory against Lincoln-King Academy on the 14th. As for Hamtramck, they are taking a road trip to square off against Arbor Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st.
